D. Crawford Dead; Retired Rail Executive Associated Press Lake Wales, July 23-David A. Crawford, 76, retired president of Pullman Co. and a director of numerous large corporations, died yesterday. Crawford was a directo.

of the American Telephone and Telegraph Armour and Co. and a former director of Montgomery Ward, as well as about 30 other firms. The St. Louis, native was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of University of Wisconsin and headed the University's Alumni Research Foundation. He was a personal friend of former Presiden Herbert Hoover.

Crawford leaves his wife, Grace, a son, Edward W. of Chicago, and a daughter, Mrs. Nathaniel E. Duval of Fort Lauderdale. Miss Skinner Services Are Tomorrow Services for Miss Anna Belle Skinner, 85, of 2061 Tiger Tail Coconut Grove, will be held at 10 a.m.

tomorrow at the Philbrick Miami Chapel. She died yesterday. Miss Skinner, who was a teacher in Dade County schools for 23 years prior to her retirement in 1946, came to Miami years ago from Chicago. She last taught at Silver Bluff Elementary School. She was a member Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove.

A brother, Dessa of Kansas City, survives. Interment will be in Woodlawn Park Cemetery. N. S. Bader Dead At 48 Nicholas S.

Bader, 48, an aircraft salesman and resident here for the past 13 years, died yesterday. Mr. Bader, of 1470 NW 90th was a member of the James Carnell Masonic Lodge and the U.S.-Miami Power Squadron of Biscayne Bay. He leives his wife, Natalie; son, Philip, of Miami; his mother, Mrs. Edith Bader, of Elyria, Ohio; a brother and one sister.

The Philbrick Miami Shores Chapel will hold services at 2 p.m. Thursday, followed by interment in Dade Memorial Park. Father Of 5 Electrocuted United Press Utica, N. July 23 The father of five small children was electrocuted and his wife seriously injured in a freak accident last night. John Swed, 39, was walking his dog when pup's chain tangled around a utility pole and came in contact with a ground wire.

The electric shock instantly felled the man and killed the dog. Zwed's wife, Anna, 38, was shocked when she attempted to aid her husband. Sikes Introduces Vet Study Bill Washington, July 23 -A- A bill introduced by Rep. Sikes (D- Fla) yesterday would authorize appropriation of 20 million dollars a year to provide scholarships to veterans who would study science and engineering as preparation for becoming teachers. Sikes said his bill was inspired by a critical shortage of teachers in those fields.

Grants to veterans would be as high as $2,000 a year. Greater Miami Deaths Mrs. W. C. Russell, Pioneer, At Age 85 Mrs.

W. C. Russell, pioneer Floridian and widow of a former mayor of Fort Pierce, died early today at her home, 1025 Hardee Rd, at the age of 85. Mrs. Russell was born in Rock Spring, Ohio.

She came to South Florida with her husband in 1912. The couple homesteaded at Wabasso, south of Fort Pierce, and in 1914 moved to Fort Pierce. Mr. Russell later became of that city and a U. S.

commissioner for Southeast Florida. The Russells moved to Coral Gables from Fort Pierce in 1929. Mrs. Russell was a communicant of the Episcopar Church. She was a life member of Eastern Star.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. H. O. Ewing, of Middleport, Ohio; Mrs. Kenneth Fuessle, of New York City; Easter Martin Russell, of Miami; Miss Julia E.

Russell, of Chicago, and Mrs. C. T. Butler, of Silver Spring, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The Lithgow-Wilhelm Funeral Home will be in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mrs. Ida Shwiller Services for Mrs. Ida Shwiller, 73, of 2385 SW 16th will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Gordon Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Mt.

Sinai Cemetery. Mrs. Shwiller, who died yesterday, came to Miami 10 years ago from Long Island, N. Y. Surviving are her husband, Harry; three sons, David and James, of Miami, and Seymour of Denver, a daughter, Mrs.

Dorothy Drain, of Miami; a brother, and a sister. Leslie W. Moon Moon, 56, 401 SW 27th Rites, for, Leslie W. (Bob) will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the King Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be conducted in the Elks Garden at Flagler Memorial Park. Mr. Moon, who died Sunday, came to Miami 24 years ago from St. Louis. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, 948, Miami, and the Hotel and Restaurant Workers Local 33.

He is survived by his wife, Rene; a brother and a sister. Oliver E. Knox Services will be held in Pittsburgh for Oliver E. Knox, 89, of 1654 SW 11th who died Sunay. Mr.

Knox was a retired salesman, coming here 25 years ago from Pittsburgh. He leaves his wife. Ruth, and two sons, Floyd Boston, and Edgar of Pittsburgh. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Ahern-Plummer Funeral Home. Mrs.

Valerie Meyer Rosary services for Mrs. Valerie Meyer, 66, who died yesterday, will be held at 8 p.m. today in the Van Orsdel Northside Mortuary, with requiem Mass at a.m. tomorrow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

She lived at 1281 NE 117th St. Mrs. Meyer, a resident here for the past 16 survived by her husband, Cornelius, and a sister, Mrs. Matilda Foltyn. Interment will be in Woodlawn Park Cemetery, Thomas W.

McAdam Final rites for Thomas W. McAdam, 70, who died Sunday, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Bess Memorial Mortuary, with interment in Dade Memorial Park. Mr. McAdam, of 620 NW 144th came here 20 years ago from Rochester, N.Y.

Mr. Hewitt, a refrigeration engineer for Food Fair, was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, veteran of World War and a member of the Steam Fitters union, local 725. He served with the merchant marine during World War II. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Glass Funeral Home, with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
