THE DAILY John Young, Local Health Officer, Dies John W. Young, 67, health offcer in Stroudsburg for years, died at 10:30 a. m. yestereral at the home of Mrs. Pearl Lee, Lenape Apartments, Stroudsburg, where he had resided for a number of years.
Born in Northampton County, Mr. Young was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Young. He had been in ill health a number of years.
Mr. Young had worked at Worthington Mower Co. and had been associated with his son, Vincent, in operation of Cobblestone Inn near Bartonsville for a number of years. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys LaPenna, two sons, Elwood, Stroudsburg and Vincent, Point Pleasant, N.

and Mrs. Allen Pope last Friday. STROUDSBURG- -EAST STROUDSBURG, Johnson, 88, Succumbs To Illness Mrs. Eliza Jane Johnson, 189 Meyers East Stroudsburg, founder of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church on Third Stroudsburg, died at 2:30 a.m. yesterday after a short illness.
Mrs. Johnson, who was 88, was the widow of Rev. William F. Johnson who died in 1941. was born in Stroudsburg, a daughter of the late Franklin and 1 Martha Wilis Ray, and spent her entire life in the two Stroudsburg boroughs.
In addition to founding and guiding the Christian Missionary Church through its formative years, she was extremely active in various foreign mission works. She was a former chairman of the church sewing circle and had remained a member of that group until the time of her death. Surviving are two sons, Norman, East Stroudsburg; William, Delaware Water Gap; one daughter, Mrs. Zella Minor, East burg; one sister, Mrs. Daisy Walker and a brother, Roger Ray, both of Stroudsburg; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, with Rev. Charles Ford, pastor of the church, officiating, and Rev. B. H.
Hostetter assisting. Interment will be made in Stroudsburg cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home of William Clark on Thursday after 7 p.m. and at the church Friday from noon until time of the services. Henryville Mrs.

Mr. Polley had been ill for a long period of time. A native of Lake Ariel, Mr. Polley had resided in this region for many years. He had been engaged in the lumber business until illness forced his retirement.
